Blog Hop - The Next big thing

I have been tagged to hop by the talented Coralie Jensen.

What is the (working title) of your book?

KILLER RUN is the title of my latest book, published November 2012

Where did the idea come from for the book?

The idea came while running with a friend during a trail marathon.

What genre does your book fall under?

Mystery, Suspence, Romance, Thriller, “Cheesy Beach Read”, Vacation book, It has elments of all of the above.

Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

I have often been asked this question, and honestly, I have no idea. Let me know who you think would be good choices.

What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

A seemingly random, but mysterious death during a race, unites Jack and Max with the owners of a north country bed & breakfast in a strange and curious way.

Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

I self published KILLER RUN using Amazon’s CreateSpace.

How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?

Approximately six months.

What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

I can’t think of any specific books, but I have always enjoyed reading other series with recurring characters, on-again/off-again relationships and how chance and circumstance can impact those characters. Some of my favorites are Patterson, Grafton, Evanovitch, Parker, and James Lee Burke.

Who or What inspired you to write this book?

As I said in the second question, the inspiration came during a trail marathon. My friend was running the full distance and I joined her for the second half to help pace her through it. The terrain was challenging, the early November morning was clear and crisp, and as I ran I imagined what could happen if someone slipped off the trail and fell down an embankment.

What else about your book might pique the reader's interest?

This story takes my recurring characters in some new directions and introduces several new ones into their lives. A dash of history, a pinch of chance, some Quilts from the late 1700’s and a contemporary trail marathon are some of the ingredients that are mixed together to create this latest Jack Beale Mystery.
